Have you ever tried making quick pops with the Zoku Popsicle Maker?

Hot summer days are long, but so are traditional popsicles! It seems like such a good idea back then that you put all the ingredients in the popsicle pan and then wait {grilling} and wait for it to freeze in the freezer. A better way is with the new instant freeze popsicle maker technology and today I’m going to share some of my favorites!

Let’s make popsicles … quick!

When my kids were young, we spent a lot of time making popsicles the old fashioned way. It was good when it was good but there are downsides like I sometimes forget that we made popsicles and the ice cream molds were left in the freezer for weeks, months … years? <–Do not judge me!

The first time I met fast-paced pop-makers was when I visited the Chicago Home Show event spaces years ago and found that my life was about to change with a new category of ice shapes. I watched in awe as they made quick popsicles (or whatever they called them) in their Zoku Quick Pop Maker booth in just a few minutes and with little effort.

When I got home, I bought a Zoku Quick Pop Maker, which was the first generation of Zoku popsicle makers that became a daily event on hot days in summer.

Products that make quick popsicles

Multiple pop makers

The original Zoku Quick Pop Maker worked really well for my family because it makes popsicles in about 7 minutes (which isn’t a lot of time at all) and it has 3 popsicles which means one for each of my three children. No need for extra power or planning ahead, as long as you keep the empty Quick Pop Maker in your freezer so it’s ready when you make the Ice Age a relaxing place to be.

Oh! And if I want a popsicle, you can reuse the quick popsicle maker up to three times before it has to be frozen again. So if the kids had friends I could just reuse it multiple times as long as I had extra sticks and dip guards.

If you want to prepare the popsicles in advance so you don’t have to make popsicles while the kids wait, Zoku has this cool quick-pop storage box that keeps popsicles in the freezer in an airtight container that holds the quick Holds pop sticks and dip guards upright.

Have fun with the Zoku character set that kids can use to decorate their popsicles with stencils that create really cool patterns.

Products that make traditional popsicles better

I totally understand that a quick pop maker just seems unnecessary, and if that’s the case in your home, here are some traditional popsicle shapes that I really like for a variety of reasons.

Zoku Classic Pop Molds – This classic popsicle shape has 6 easy-to-remove popsicle spots and comes with stems with drip protection attached and is BPA free. It’s just a really good basic popsicle mold set.

10 Pop Silicone Mold – I like this popsicle mold because it’s big and it makes the popsicle shape I remember as a kid. It can be used with conventional popsicles and makes 10 popsicles at a time.

Ice Cream Makers – Okay, this isn’t exactly popsicles, I get that, but this is really cool (got it?) And handy for making one-serving ice cream at home. I don’t have any of these … yet. I’ll get that next time!

Shake Maker – Yeah, this isn’t a popsicle either, but it’s a really easy way to cool off with a single portion shake or slushie this summer. I have one in the freezer for each of my kids and they make their own slushies all the time. They are color coded so no one else uses them!
