This yeast-free pizza dough is a lifesaver if you want to make homemade pizza but don’t have yeast. Simply stir the ingredients and knead for 2-3 minutes. It’s perfect for a family size pizza or 6 mini pizzas for the kids.
The other day I shared the recipe for my no-knead-no-rise pizza crust and heard from several people that they couldn’t make it because they didn’t have yeast.
Knowing that yeast can be hard to come by at the moment, I decided to tweak the recipe to see if this dough could be made without it.
I am happy to report that it can be!
Baking soda is a substitute for yeast!
After some googling, I learned that baking soda is a “dry chemical leavening” and can be used as a yeast substitute in making pizza crust. I decided to try my no-knead pizza dough recipe, and I made these mini pizzas for my family.
We loved them so much we did them again the very next evening!
I can’t tell you how happy I am to know that we can still have homemade pizza even after my yeast supply has run out!
